This is a fun game that can be used for just about any set of vocab, as long as you can draw it!
How to play: Draw all the words that you will use for the game, this can include letters, for phonics practice.
Divide the class into two even teams, and give each one a number. Get the students to ask the teacher (you) the target question. You answer and give a number. The two students with that number have to race to the board and slap (while saying) the words you indicated in your answer. Get the winner to become the teacher.
Variations:
- Vocabulary sequence - say any number of vocabulary in a specific sequence and say a number. The students then race to the board, slap and say the vocabulary in the correct order. For some fun, you could try getting the students to slap and say in the reverse order. For example: Teacher says: "apple, banana, orange, mango." Student says: "mango, orange, banana, apple."
- Phonics - have a bunch of letters on the board. The teacher says the phonic values of a word, and the students must slap and say each letter as well as the resulting word.
