I Spy With My Little Eye....
I used to play this, as a kid, on long road trips. Now, I play it in my ESL classroom. It's great for teaching adjectives and prepositions
How to play: One student chooses an object (they have to be able to see it). Their opening statement is: I spy with my little eye.... something green. They can say anything that describes the object they have choosen (or it's location, eg I spy with my little eye something that is ON the table). Other player try to guess what it is, The "spyer" can only say "yes" or "no" to student guesses. The spyer provides as many clues as they can. Whoever guesses correctly becomes the spy.
Variations:
- Set a time limit that the students have to guess the object.
- Set a limit on how many descriptions the spyer can give.
Enjoy!
